The Family, known off trail as The Crawford Family, hiked the Appalachian Trail together in 2018. They are the largest family to successfully complete the trail, with kids at the time ranging in age from 2 to 17 years old. Mama Lion, known off trail as Olivia Miller Bakke, tackled the Pacific Crest Trail in 2016 with her 9 year old son, Boone. When we first met, her indulging of my many questions about food and packs and clothes and all of the things that are the crazy incredible experience of thru hiking inspired this podcast.
