WISDOMS

THRU HIKING

• When you are going solo, there’s a lot to kinda mull over in your mind and I found that if I would reflect back to something more positive it would help me get through that lull of it better.

• It’s just where your headspace is at.  And when it starts going south, it’s easy to get stuck in that and just every so often reminding yourself that there’s an awesome little butterfly that flew by or look at the colours on these trees that are all turning.

• I found that once I got going, after about 15 minutes, I was always warm enough to just be in my t-shirt.

• I found on the wetter days it was better to wear the rain pants just
cause they dried out fairly quick.

• You got to ask yourself “If this did fail me, how long could I go without it? Is there a way I can figure out something to replace it that I do have?”

• There’s always opportunities for you to replace or find a resolution for that thing that might have failed.

• You can keep pushing yourself, but you’re going to break down.  That’s what happened to me in week one.  Taking the time, taking a relaxation day helped a ton.  Taking the time to take care of yourself because everything else is still going to be there.

• If you aren’t able to keep going because you haven’t taken care of yourself,
then you’re never going to get to that next thing.

• Just address it before it gets too big.

WISDOMS

• We ended up contacting some businesses in town that I was going to resupply at and
we dropped the packages off at these businesses and they held them.
